THE STORY THAT STARTED IT

Judy & William

“This book began with William and me, but it was never meant to end with us. Every woman in these pages carries a story of love, covenant, loss, faith, and legacy. Somewhere within our stories, I pray you recognize pieces of your own.”

Lady Toya Jones

Lady Toya Jones is an ordained minister, author, speaker, entrepreneur, AI consultant, and Identity Recovery Specialist whose life and work reflect a commitment to faith, service, and helping others move forward after significant change. She is the founder of The Married Widow LLC, a faith centered initiative created to help women rediscover identity, confidence, purpose, and direction following loss and major life transitions.

Toya shared both marriage and ministry with her late husband, Pastor Toney D. Eades Sr. When he founded Rhema Word: Ministries of Life, she served alongside him as assistant pastor. Together, they also established Happily Ever After Marriage Counseling, spending more than 14 years supporting premarital and married couples.

Her service has extended from churches and pastoral leadership to women's shelters and community outreach. Today, Toya continues helping people navigate change through ministry, coaching, education, consulting, and advocacy.

Her contribution to It Takes A Ruth For a Boaz gives voice to a love that shaped her life and a journey that continued after loss, reminding women that grief may change their circumstances without determining their future.

“Change can disrupt your circumstances without determining your future.”

Reverend Pamela B. Jones Watford

Reverend Pamela B. Jones Watford is a pastor, singer, community servant, and lifelong advocate for others whose journey reflects faith, leadership, and a commitment to serving people. She currently pastors St. Luke AME Church Daughtery in Locustville, Virginia, and was ordained an itinerant elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church in 2023.

A graduate of Virginia State University, Troy University, and Payne Theological Seminary, Pamela is continuing her theological education through doctoral studies at Virginia Union University. In 2026, she retired after 39 years of service with the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority, where she concluded her career as Chief of Rental Assistance Housing Programs. Her community involvement also extends to affordable housing, civic organizations, mentoring, and volunteer service.

Pamela shared her life and faith with her late husband, Reverend Percy R. Watford Jr., and is the mother of Percy Jacobie Watford. Her contribution to It Takes A Ruth For a Boaz honors the love they shared while giving voice to faith that continues through seasons of change and loss.

Her favorite Scripture, Romans 8:28, reflects a truth that continues to guide her journey: God can work through every season for good.

Evangelist Judy Lawrence Lamb

Evangelist Judy Lawrence Lamb is an author, ministry leader, educator, and woman of faith whose life has been shaped by service, family, perseverance, and a deep commitment to following God's direction. Her spiritual foundation was nurtured through nearly 40 years at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Suffolk, Virginia, and continued through seasons of ministry and service in Virginia and North Carolina.

In 2013, Judy graduated with honors from Norfolk State University alongside her youngest son, Allen. Her journey has included surviving cancer, experiencing the loss of her firstborn son, Adrian, and walking through seasons of caregiving, transition, and renewed purpose.

At the center of much of Judy's journey was her husband, William Lamb, who supported her ministry, writing, and dreams while she stood beside him in his own service to God. Their marriage became a testimony of companionship, faith, and enduring love.

After William's passing on November 29, 2025, Judy entered a new season of faith and widowhood. Today, she continues serving God through writing and ministry while honoring the love and lessons that shaped their life together. It Takes A Ruth For a Boaz was born from that love and expanded to create space for other women to tell their stories as well.
